(Intentional Prayer)

Praying the Scriptures – My Prayer:

Lord, as I continue to walk this journey with You as my guide, I seek to know You on a more intimate level. Lord, I want to be used by You, for Your glory. Let the words that I say be edifying to those within my level of influence. Let Your Word penetrate the hearts and souls of others, so that they, too, may receive the richness of Your glory through Christ Jesus.

God, Your Word says that light shines on the godly, and joy on those whose hearts are right. God, I thank You for the light that You shine in and through my life each day. God, help me not to do anything that will dim that light. Continue to order my steps and give me the wisdom and knowledge and understanding to walk therein. Renew my mind, this day, and make my heart right in the things of God, so that I may receive the joy that You readily provide.

Lord, I rejoice in You and praise Your holy name. For you, O Lord, have done mighty and marvelous things.

According to Your Word, out of the immeasurable love that You have for me, I have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God and because of this, I can hold firmly to what I believe. Jesus, my High Priest, understands my weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings I do, yet he did not sin. Lord, thank You for the example that you have set before me. As Christ endured, so have You given me the grace to endure the “testings” that befall me.

My gracious God, I come boldly to the throne of your grace. There I will receive your mercy, and I will find grace to help me when I need it most.

Shine on me!

This I pray in Jesus’ Name. Not my will but Your will be done. For Your Glory! Amen.

Scriptures:

(Pick Your Favorite Bible Translation)

Psalm 97:11-12 (NLT)
11 Light shines on the godly,
and joy on those whose hearts are right.
12 May all who are godly rejoice in the Lord
    and praise his holy name

Hebrews 4:14-16 (NLT)
14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. 15 This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. 16 So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.
