(Intentional Prayer)

Pray the Scriptures – My Prayer:

Lord, oh the joy that fills my soul. Lord, You have promised me that I can have joy even in the midst of everything that comes my way. Lord, there are times when life can become overwhelming and my heart grows weary. You never said that life would be easy; but, because You are omnipresent, always with me, I can take refuge in You. God Your Word tells me that those who take refuge in You have every right to rejoice. I can sing joyful praises forever.

I will rejoice in the Lord, the God of my salvation!

God, I pray and I petition for your protection to be spread over me and those who are Your children, so that all who love your name may be filled with joy. For you bless the godly, O Lord; you surround them with your shield of love.

Lord, waiting can be strenuous. Waiting is a test of my faith and the process sometimes puts me in difficult and trying situations, in which the joy and hope that I long to exhibit escapes me. Yet, when I become weak in my faith, I can celebrate because the joy of the Lord is my strength. I am renewed in my spirit and I can begin a new day knowing that You are close to the brokenhearted and You save those who are crushed in spirit.

You, Lord, are my strength and shield. I trust You with all my heart. You help me time and time again, even when I don’t deserve it, and as a result, my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.

God, this day and always, I choose joy!

I will not allow life’s challenges to deprive me of what You have promised to me. Life in You is a reason to have joy.

Nothing can separate me from Your love.

You are my source of hope. Fill me completely with joy and peace because I trust in You. Then I will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

I choose joy!

This I pray in Jesus’ Name. Not my will but Your will be done. For Your Glory! Amen.

I capture my rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. Any negative thoughts or thoughts that are not pleasing to You, O Lord, I cast them out in Jesus’ name. They have no authority over me, but I have authority through Jesus Christ. I am free. I am delivered. I am made whole. (Intentional Prayer) Pray the Scriptures: Lord, when I am left with lingering emotions of irritation and disappointment because of how another person chose to interact with me, help me to aim high, looking to Jesus as my example when someone has offended me. Help me to recognize when the intent is not to cause these feelings to emerge within, but that a greater purpose and good is the end result.
