Have you ever felt powerless; in need of direction? Even with the direction or what you believe is the right key, do you feel as though you really cannot seem to unlock the truth of God’s Word in your life? Do you feel locked out? Has your patience been tried again and again? Well, guess what? HE TRIED IT and allowed it and it is developing your patience.

Watch out now! Who tried it? God tried it! What did He allow? The development of your patience. How did He do it? Through the testing of your faith.

See! You really aren’t locked out. You’ve just been trying over and over again to use your rusty old key that will not fit any lock that you try until You let the Lord do what He wants to do in and through your life. When He supplies the oil of His anointing, the key will slide right on in and turn towards your OVERWHELMING VICTORY through Jesus Christ.

James 1:3 (Amplified Bible – AMP) says,
3 Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace].

Hmmmmm! Struggle = Peace?

I know what you are thinking. “So, blog writer person, what you are saying is, after I throw my pity party and my tantrum(s) and flip out about every step of this process, I will have somehow found my way to maturity? You mean, I will be able to truly unlock what Satan has tried to lock up, which will lead me to manifestation and overflow of God’s goodness in my life? That sounds a bit off…Struggle to Peace?”

Let’s just be real here. Our responses do not always fall on the mature range of the spectrum, but when we STOP right in the middle of those emotional fumbles and say, “Wait a minute, now! Where is my head at? What is my heart believing and trusting in? Hey! I serve a great God who is mighty to do just what He said. Get it together {insert name here}! Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, THEN all these things (what I want God to turn around in my life for good for His glory) will be added to me.”, THEN, we can realize that what God is trying to do is develop us into someone whom He can use to encourage and be a blessing to others.

We say we want to help others, but what does that feel like and look like when that means sacrificing. I am talking about really, truly giving of ourselves; our emotions, our heart, getting into the trenches and fighting to live Holy and also to win other souls to Christ. Sometimes, let’s just put it out there and be honest about this, we are hanging on by a thread; almost, to the point of pure fatigue, not really having much left for ourselves. That’s a lot to give with no real visible returns in the near future. But do you realize that we are not to be so absorbed in the things of this world, nor are we to be so comfortable here that we forget the real purpose as to why God chose us.

Matthew 6:33 (Amplified Bible – AMP) says,
33 But first and most importantly seek (aim at, strive after) His kingdom and His righteousness [His way of doing and being right—the attitude and character of God], and all these things will be given to you also.

We cannot settle for just knowing about God and saying, “I believe!” Let’s aim at and strive after His kingdom and His righteousness. Let’s read and study God’s Word so that we can do everything His way, having the attitude and character of God. This will produce in us the maturity that the testing of our faith is intended to produce.

Why go through all that we go through and not come out on the other side better than when we went in.

What God wants to birth through us, that new creation, takes time. It is often very uncomfortable and requires what? Trust! We hear that so often, but it is simply true. Without trust being at the foundation of any relationship, we have nothing. There is no sure foundation; no solid rock to stand upon.

No matter what we see, don’t see, or even feel, or don’t feel, it is essential that we TRUST GOD TO THE END.

Through my various struggles and hard times, I really want to seek God daily and ask for His strength, which He is always willing and able to provide. Looking at the big picture is just immense at times. I really want to slow down, take it one bite-size at a time, and see what God is trying to show me. “God, Your Word says that You give me new mercies for today, so I’m not going to try to figure out next month, next week, or even tomorrow. I am going to face what today brings, good or bad, and rejoice, either way, in knowing that I have all that You have poured out to me for this day. I trust that it’s enough. I choose to believe and to continue this journey with You.”

We can often feel like, “God, I’ve learned the lesson. I’ve had my turn. I’m ready to jump off of this roller coaster”. God may be saying, “Wait-just-one-minute! When I took you around that last curve and flipped you upside down, you closed your eyes. You didn’t look, as I instructed you. As a result, you missed what I was trying to show you. We are going to use your fast pass to take you around this situation one more time. The wait won’t be as long, but YOU MUST FINISH THE PROCESS.”

Is God perhaps saying that to you? Self, is God saying that to me? When we feel “tried” and are pretty much over everything and we go to throw our hands up in defeat, remembering the faithfulness of God, and YES He’s been faithful, is what will land us on our feet.

Yes, we are being tested and tried, but we are at the same time becoming a mature follower of Jesus Christ. Who wants to be a baby forever, walking around in a soiled diaper, needing to rely on everyone, anyone, to provide us with what we need just to survive life. I want to thrive. I want to grow up in the Lord. I don’t need to make a name for myself or be recognized for anything, I just want to be found living for the Lord and walking as closely to Him as I possibly can. “So, God, thank you once again for the trying times because they have come to draw me closer to You. When the pressures of life come, where do I turn? I turn to You because there is no other help that I know.”

“Thank You, God, for taking me through and bringing out of me all that needs to be birthed through my testing and trials. I know you will always show up right on time and ride alongside me as I flip and turn around the next curve, knowing that in spite of every trying moment, I shall have everlasting life.”

Psalms 139:23-24 (NLT)
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24 Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
