Pray the Scriptures – My Prayer:
Lord, I want so badly to help others to see that You have better for them. Lord, I don’t want to do anything of my own strength; therefore, I need Your power to work in my life. Guide me. Give me what to say and when to say it.
Lord, it is my prayer that every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God is destroyed right now in the name of Jesus. Capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. The only way is through Jesus Christ. Let my words speak about what Christ did on the Cross for us ALL and let Your promises draw them near.
Lord, once they hear about Jesus and learn the truth that comes from him, teach them how to throw off their old sinful nature and their former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew their thoughts and attitudes. Change their lives for the better through the Word of God. Help them to put on their new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.
God they are able, not by my failing words, but by Your Words of truth, hope, and love, to be made new. Because of Your grace and mercy, they can have their lives enriched and walk in the promise of eternal life.
When my words fail, remind me that it is Your truth that should be used to pursue others and persuade them to have faith in You. Nothing that I say can bring deliverance or set anyone free. God Your Word says, “The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.” Let my words be few and seasoned with grace so that nothing that I say brings death to another. Let your light shine in me so that others may see clearly the God of my Salvation, the One who wants to deliver them.
As Jesus said, “In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.” God, let this be me.
When my words fail, as they most definitely will, speak through me so that those around me may hear and receive Your truth.
This I pray in Jesus’ Name. Not my will but Your will be done. For Your Glory! Amen.
