Look for God in all situations. He’s there, even when you feel stuck and just aren’t sure.

Hello and Welcome to My Faith Expressions.

It’s a great day to trust God. He has all power in his hand. He knows what is best and He will bring you out of any storm and place your feet on solid ground. What a mighty God He is!

Word of Hope for Today:

Distractions may come, but you can trust God to fulfill His purpose.

My blog posts tend to alternate between Intentional Prayer, a little bit of teaching based on my understanding of God’s Word through the revelation that He gives to me and through my day-to-day application and lessons learned, and a sprinkle of personal testimony to encourage another, in order to let someone, anyone know that they are not alone. As I look back, I realized that this week’s posts were mainly directed towards Intentional Prayers to God. Why, I asked myself? Because this past week, I had several moments of just not being sure. What did I do when I felt this way? I turned to prayer, where I could get some relief and hear from God. I chose to quiet myself and turn to Him.

When you just don’t know what to do, turn to God in prayer.

The other day, I had one of “those” days. I must admit that I was having a hard time focusing. I was not being very productive. I was what you may call mentally distracted. I cleaned off my desk and dusted a bit. I logged into some systems, so that they were up on my monitor, but I could not seem to get truly focused. I am kind-of between projects, so thank God that my moment of difficulty really was not hindering the progress of those around me. I could have gotten a jump on some things, but my wandering thoughts would not allow me to do so.

You see, I wasn’t really moving forward in my day or being very fruitful. I was just kind of putting in time, trying to make it to lunch, then trying to make it to my departure time. I really had nothing that I needed to rush home to, but I was allowing some of the cares of life to dictate my day. It wasn’t that I was “overly” worried or really burdened down, as has been the case on other occasions, but I felt a bit defeated because things were not progressing as I would have preferred. Thinking on these things had me hemmed up in a corner where nothing else really seemed to matter in the moment. I wasn’t going backward, but I also wasn’t moving forward. I was in a state of “blah”-ness, if you will (I know it’s really not a word).

During our spiritual walk with the Lord, some days, these days of bleakness (okay there’s a real word), are what we endure. We’re woke and alert. We have things that we need to accomplish, but for some reason we cannot find our “get up and go”. We attempt to connect with others around us. Nothing! We also perform our usual steps to connect with God, because we know if we can just hear from Him, we will be able to snap out of this moment of emptiness, and progress within our day. Our Bibles are open, ready to see/hear what God wants to bring into clear view for us in His Word. But, what is happening instead? We are distracted. We haven’t walked away from God, but we just aren’t sure what to do next.

Acts 17:27 (NLT) says,
27 “His purpose was for the nations to seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him—though he is not far from any one of us.

The things that we may call distractions, perhaps God has allowed those to stop us in our tracks so that we will take the time to seek after Him. Even when we are confused about what to do next and just aren’t sure, we can always feel our way toward God and find Him, though He is not ever far from any one of us.

When I went to name this blog post, that is the name that God gave me, “God, I’m Not Sure”. There are so many times where we simply are not sure what to do or what to say or how to break free from our moments of nothingness so that we can be productive as God intends for us to be. Can I tell you that IT’S OKAY! It really is. We aren’t going to be on the mountaintop for Jesus every second of every day. It’s okay to just be in that moment and trust God.

“God, today I have nothing of myself. I don’t have a solution for this situation or for that. I don’t know what my next step(s) should be. But God I trust you!”

This is sometimes exactly where God wants us to be. The feeling that goes along with this state of mind is often a heaviness in the pit of our stomach, but it’s not always all bad. It is a moment to reflect on the fact that without God, we can do nothing.

I’m reminded of a song called, “Without God I Could Do Nothing”. The lyrics go like this.

Without God, I could do nothing, Oh Lord
Without God, You know all my life would fail
Without God, my life would be rugged, Oh Lord,
Yes, like a ship, (like a ship)
Without a sail, without a sail, (Without a sail)

Sometimes we must simply sit in this feeling and allow God to touch our hearts. Perhaps a healing is taking place in that moment and God wants us to be still and trust Him. Without Him all of our life would fail. So when we don’t know what’s next or why we feel a certain way, we must allow God to be the sail to our ship and let Him guide us in the direction that He sees fit. If we wait long enough, we will hear from Him again and we will obtain that boast of energy that we need, that renewal of strength, to get up from that place and keep moving forward.

Never lose sight of the fact that You Are More Than Enough! Don’t Look Back! Finish the Process! When we aren’t sure, God is!

I pray that you find comfort and strength by sticking around a bit and taking a look at any posts that you may have missed this past week. If time allows, please feel free to catch up.

Be Blessed!

  1. Thank you for sharing truth and testimony. It’s reassuring to know I’m not the only one who doesn’t know the next step to take other than trusting God. In fact, He and I had this conversation earlier this evening 😊

  2. Wow. You are a blessing!. God bless your depth in Him.

This was me 2 days back too, I felt all lost and disappointed. I took a while off and got my cool and I can still not explain how it happened that I transitioned from feeling so out of faith to being full of hope and faith in Him and His dealings again.

Such an amazing father. Learning so much on trust each passing time.

    1. Yes. God is amazing. Life spins us around sometimes. Our feelings go up and down, but in the midst of it all, thank God, we can trust Him to guide us through. It’s not always easy, but He makes it so and gives us strength in the process. When we don’t know what else to do, which is quite often for me, I put my trust in Him. Amen. Be blessed!
