(Intentional Prayer)

Pray the Scriptures – My Prayer:

Lord, as I continue to run this race, I desire to keep my eyes stayed on You. Although I am in this race, help me to remember that there is no competition within the body of Christ, for we all aim towards the same goal of living faithfully until Christ’s return.

As Your Word says, Lord, give me the grace to love others with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each of them. Do not let my words slander or tear down anyone, as we all walk this journey to bring into line our lives according to Your Word.

As I pray this prayer not only for myself but others along this Christian path, let us all be found encouraging each other and building each other up, just as we are already doing.

If we have not been doing this, Lord forgive us and allow our heart to be filled with compassion for each other. Assist us in seeing beyond each other’s faults, as You do my great God, and allow us to understand one another’s heart that, prayerfully, is longing to become more like You.

Although I may not, or I should say, will not run this race without some disruptions or setbacks, I  will get back up again, shake off the residue of my mess, and pick back up the pace, placing one foot in front of the other.

As Paul sent Timothy to check in on the Thessalonians, Lord, I want to be found strengthening others, and encouraging them in their faith, and aiding in keeping them from being shaken by the troubles they are going through. For we all know that we are destined for such troubles. But as helpers one to another, we are able to get through these tests and trials together. We know that You never leave us nor forsake us, but let us also find strength amongst believers so that we may run on and see what is to come in our future with You.

Eternal life is the finish line, but You have so many prizes that You want to give us along the way. We shall endure and walk in victory, even when running this race becomes challenging. Bless us so that our faith will stay strong. Do not allow the tempter to get the best of us and do not let our work be useless.

Let everything be done decently and in order for Your glory. For this and all other blessings, we will always give You praise.

This I pray in Jesus’ Name. Not my will but Your will be done. For Your Glory! Amen.

Romans 12:10 (NLT)
10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NLT)
11 So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

1 Thessalonians 3:1-5 (NLT)
1 Finally, when we could stand it no longer, we decided to stay alone in Athens, 2 and we sent Timothy to visit you. He is our brother and God’s co-worker in proclaiming the Good News of Christ. We sent him to strengthen you, to encourage you in your faith, 3 and to keep you from being shaken by the troubles you were going through. But you know that we are destined for such troubles. 4 Even while we were with you, we warned you that troubles would soon come—and they did, as you well know. 5 That is why, when I could bear it no longer, I sent Timothy to find out whether your faith was still strong. I was afraid that the tempter had gotten the best of you and that our work had been useless.

Be intentional about your prayers. Include God’s Word. You may use the listed Scriptures or select one’s that minister to you, right here, right now! Be blessed.

  • I Have Authority
(Intentional Prayer) Pray the Scriptures: Lord, I come to you today as a reminder to myself that I have authority through Jesus Christ. I use Your mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. I destroy every proud obstacle that keeps me from knowing You. I capture my rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. Any negative thoughts or thoughts that are not pleasing to You, O Lord, I cast them out in Jesus’ name. They have no authority over me, but I have authority through Jesus Christ. I am free. I am delivered. I am made whole. When I feel lost or confused, I will turn to Your Word and gain strength, knowledge and understanding. I will seek deliverance because it is for those who ask and want it […]

  • Aim High
(Intentional Prayer) Pray the Scriptures: Lord, when I am left with lingering emotions of irritation and disappointment because of how another person chose to interact with me, help me to aim high, looking to Jesus as my example when someone has offended me. Lord, I want to do all that I can to live in peace with everyone. Help me to recognize when the intent is not to cause these feelings to emerge within, but that a greater purpose and good is the end result. I mustn’t allow my emotions to control or dictate how I move forward in that connection. I must choose to set my feelings aside and do what is best to allow Your good plan to prevail […]
