(Intentional Prayer)

Pray the Scriptures – My Prayer:

something_to_look_forward_to_44495816_larger

Thank You Lord for peace of mind and the promise that I have something to look forward to. This life is not the end if I will obey Your commands and remain with You. I want to follow closely and hear Your voice. I want to be submissive to Your will and let You be God.

Jesus directed that I not let my heart be troubled. I shall trust in God, and trust also in Jesus. There is more than enough room in Your home, my heavenly Father, for me. If this were not so, Jesus would not have told me, in Your Word, that He was going to prepare a place for me. When everything is ready, He has promised that He will come and get me, so that I will always be with Him where He is. And I know the way to where He is going.

That way is the way of holiness and living a sanctified and set apart life. Lord, help me to let go of my own way of doing things and be able to completely turn my life over to You. When I don’t know what to do next, I want to stop and listen and make sure that it is You leading me and not my personal will and plan. For I have something to look forward to and I don’t want to miss out on any of the benefits and blessings along the way. My hope is in You and the return of Christ so that I may be caught up to meet Him in the air.

For Your Word speaks volumes and gives me something to look forward to.

Since I believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, I also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died. They, too, will be with You. All is not lost and forgotten; therefore, I must live this life knowing that there is more, greater, better, Your best for me, in store. I will keep pressing because I have something to look forward to.

We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.

How encouraging this is to know, and something that we can share with each other when times get tough and rough. The end is definitely superior to anything we must endure to get there.

As I look up into the sky each day, I can be joyful knowing that this life is not the end, but that I’m living this life to live again with my blessed Savior, my dear Lord.

Thank You Lord that I have something to look forward to you.

This I pray in Jesus’ Name. Not my will but Your will be done. For Your Glory! Amen.

Scriptures:

(Pick Your Favorite Bible Translation)

John 14:1-4 (NLT)
1 “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. 2 There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? 3 When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.”

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 (NLT)
13 And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died.
15 We tell you this directly from the Lord: We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. 17 Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. 18 So encourage each other with these words.
