One Conversation with God Makes the Difference!

“She” could be me. “She” could be you. “She” could be “he”, but at some point, I believe, “she” has been all of us.

She is in a room full of people. Everyone is smiling and laughing and seems to truly be enjoying life. She has so much to say, so much to share; but as usual, she feels so alone and believes that no one will ever understand her plight. Life looks good, but on the inside, many a conversation is being had. She tries to reason things out and determine within herself that everything will turn out right because she believes. But what is she believing in? Herself? Her will to hang on and figure everything out on her own or is she believing in the ONLY ONE who has the answers to her very questions and who knows her like no other?

Who do you turn to when you feel all alone?

What do we do when the thoughts in our minds try to overpower us? The solution, the fix, the way out that we have all at one point in time been searching for is to talk to God. It is in the combat zone of the mind where Satan attempts to drown out our belief in God and His mighty power to provide for us and rescue us and sustain us through each and every day. Because God did it yesterday and the day before, we already know that He is willing, able, and fully capable to do it again, THIS DAY! We can totally rely on His faithfulness to get us through every scenario that we face.

Satan, on the other hand, attempts to weaken our faith in the fight and ultimately wants us to give in to feelings of defeat and loneliness. That is one of his many, many undermining tricks. Satan wants to isolate us and cause us to believe that no one experiences the things that we experience; that we are different, weird, awkward, unlovable, and unable to be free.

We must recognize his tactics and turn to God.

Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) says,
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you.
Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you.
I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

Just as I am typing this post to you today, expressing what’s on the inside, is exactly how God wants us to come to Him. We do not need big words and some special formula that we must utilize to get Him to see us and hear us. We can simply be open and vulnerable, sharing our innermost thoughts and desires with Him. We can sit and talk to Him like He’s our best friend sitting across the table from us. He cares about every little thought and feeling that we have. None of it is new to Him. He is a healer. From the smallest emotional paper cut far and beyond a triple bypass emotional heart surgery, He brings deliverance and reconciles and restores. He can heal it all and set us free from any doubt.

When we have questions and concerns or just need someone to hear us, no matter the time of day or night, God is waiting with open arms to cradle us and rock us and display His abundant love. Can’t you feel His arms around you now? He’s there. Even if you don’t feel Him. He’s there. He cares when no one else does. Trust Him. Open up your heart and tell Him all about it. He is your Father, here to protect you; and even if you’ve been hurt, which is, unfortunately, a reality of life, He is here to mend your broken heart and renew your strength.

Never give up even when you get knocked down. Talk to God because one conversation with Him makes the difference!

Lord, we come to You today with our hearts open to receive the measure of healing that You have for us. We are ready to freely hand it all over to You, the only One who is able to resolve what ails us. We often do not know how to handle things or carry the burdensome load. Your Word tells us that when we come to You heavy laden, You will give us rest. We seek Your rest on today, Heavenly Father. You are our help and there is no other. Forgive us for the times when we failed to seek Your will and guidance and were determined to do it on our own. We put our complete trust in You. We welcome Your healing touch this day and always. This we pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.

  1. I have definitely been that ‘she’. Many many times, and even in recent times. Thankyou for such a well-written, wise and godly post which He has used to encourage and speak to me tonight.
